Highlights from our history
Your association has a real history. The Federation didn't start off as a corporation, but as a handful of dealers coming together discussing and working together to improve things. Our foundation of meetings and discussions are about the issues and also the members. We're a collective of peers who fiercely compete in the marketplace, and come together as a united group for Federation events.
The history of the Federation is a history of characters; the great builders who created an advice industry from scratch - from far flung western dealers eastward through and past Quebec; from the creator of the first segregated fund to tiny shops happily dancing to their own tunes. Those dealers servicing their advisors and niche year after year to huge integrated firms that touch every product and corner of the country, and everything in between. Independence isn't AUM.
There are great stories within the history of the Federation that are only hinted at here... these points are just a few to start.
We invite you to join us, spend some time, and engage in the great and small regulatory projects and struggles that we have been engaged with daily for nearly thirty years. Together.
Please send your special memory, person to be added and corrections to admin@IndependentDealers.ca or send it in via the form at the bottom of the page, with thanks.
