Steve Ranco, Director & Head Of Business Development, Institutional and Dealer Services
Laurentian Bank Securities
Steve has been at Laurentian Bank Securities since 2015 and is the Director and Head of Business Development for the Institutional and Dealer Services group at Laurentian. Steve has over 20 years of experience in financial services and has spent most of his career working alongside introducing brokers and independent portfolio management firms. In his current role, he works extensively to add new client relationships and helps manage the relationships with existing partners.
Prior to joining Laurentian, Steve worked in numerous back-office service roles at another carrying-broker from 2003 until 2012, ultimately leading to an account manager role where he was responsible for the day-to-day management of all Quebec and Maritimes based PM relationships. Steve was also a Senior Analyst at another bank owned dealer for almost 3 years. These roles have led to a solid understanding of the products that he supports daily.
Joel Bernard, Head of Sales and Relationship Management
Fidelity Clearing Canada
Joel Bernard, who has over 25 years of leadership experience in the Canadian financial services industry, joined Fidelity Clearing Canada in 2019 as Head of Sales and Relationship Management. In his current role, Joel is responsible for FCC’s sales leadership, partner relationships and client experience.
Before joining Fidelity, Joel spent close to 20 years with Qtrade Financial Group (Aviso Wealth) in various executive capacities, most recently as SVP, Online Brokerage, Digital Wealth and Business Development.
Joel received a BCom from Mount Allison University and an MBA from Dalhousie University. He has successfully completed a number of Canadian Securities Institute courses, including the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers (PDO) Course.
