David is a leading Commercial Litigation lawyer who also specializes in securities litigation, class actions and shareholder disputes. He represents registrants and public companies and their respective officers, directors and shareholders in class action proceedings and all manner of securities and regulatory investigations and prosecutions. 

David has appeared before all levels of court, including the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as provincial securities commissions, IIROC and the MFDA.

Richard Korble
Vice-President, Western Canada, CIRO

Richard Korble manages CIRO's operations in Western Canada. In that capacity, he directs Compliance (Financial Operations, Business Conduct and Trading Conduct), Registration, Enforcement and Surveillance activities. Prior to joining IIROC, CIRO’s predecessor organization, in 2016, Richard was a partner and Chief Compliance Officer for a private equity dealer operating across Western Canada and Ontario. Richard has also spent time with the Alberta Securities Commission and Investment Dealers Association (IDA) in regulatory and consultative activities.  His career began in retail banking and brokerage for a major Canadian Bank.
He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary and is CFA Charter holder.
Karen McGuinness
Senior Vice-President, Finance, Investor and Member Relations, CIRO

Karen McGuinness is responsible for Member Intake & Innovation, and the Office of the Investor.

Prior to her current role, Karen was most recently President and CEO of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (MFDA), Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization‘s predecessor organization. Prior to that she was Senior Vice-President, Member Regulation managing the MFDA’s Compliance, Financial Compliance, Member Education and Membership Services Departments.

Karen has previously held positions in the Enforcement Branch at the Ontario Securities Commission and as a Manager in the Litigation, Valuation and Forensic Services department of a large international accounting firm.
